About The Raceway Automotive Group

The Raceway Automotive Group began when two local businessmen decided to ensure their hometown Ford dealership remained locally owned and operated.  In July of 2000, Darlington’s Ford dealership was purchased by the Raceway Automotive Group and became known as Raceway Ford.

Later, in March of 2001, the group acquired Raceway Chevrolet-Pontiac-Buick-GMC in Lake City, SC, giving the Raceway Automotive Group a competitive advantage by covering two counties in the Pee Dee area of the state with two large, high volume automobile dealerships.
Following these two successful acquisitions, the Raceway Automotive Group acquired the Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership in Hartsville, SC, in January 2002.  With this, the Raceway Automotive Group became the largest privately-held automotive group in the Pee Dee… all in under 18 months!

Then, in late 2006, the Raceway Automotive Group opened a Preowned Outlet location in Florence, SC, dedicated to serving the car and truck buyer market with only the best preowned vehicle offerings.  Following a year later, in 2007, the Raceway Automotive Group opened another Florence location, Raceway’s Imports, in response to customer demand for a local, quality preowned import car dealership.

In late 2008, the Raceway Automotive Group opened two additional locations in Florence.  Raceway’s Truck Center brings today’s best selling preowned trucks, import and domestic, to one location for customer convenience. With continued demand for import vehicles, Raceway’s Luxury Imports opened providing customers with an array of certified preowned luxury import cars.

Today, the seven dealerships of the Raceway Automotive Group distribute the finest selection of new domestic auto brands and an unparalleled array of domestic and imports used vehicles.
